Africa GreenTec – Sustainable Energy in Africa
The goal of Africa GreenTec is to help people in the global south to achieve more self-determination and growth. To this end, Africa GreenTec offers holistic system solutions to equip the infrastructure, especially in rural regions of Africa, with electricity and sustainable technologies. While the harsh conditions of the African continent and its countries still largely resemble a technological desert, the young company is working to counteract this state with its solutions.
Therefore, Africa GreenTec has developed powerful Solartainers®, which bring electricity and thus completely new perspectives and opportunities to African villages with the help of clean solar energy. An intelligent network distributes this electricity via a pre-paid tariff system and enables data analysis as well as simple remote maintenance.
With additional systems for drinking water treatment, cold chains, Internet connection, energy-efficient terminal equipment, agricultural machinery and the promotion of education, Africa GreenTec is building so-called ImpactSites. These are villages where people are empowered to shape their future in a sustainable and self-determined way with the help of Africa GreenTec’s technology. This creates opportunities for new jobs and income opportunities on site, which counteract migration.
With many ImpactSites already successfully established in Mali and Niger, Africa GreenTec has evolved from a startup to a scale-up.
With the help of Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) as well as the cooperation with Seibert Media, we were able to find a solution that enabled the whole team to work together collaboratively from anywhere.

Africa GreenTec works together across the continents of Europe and Africa to realize projects, which is gauranteed from the manufacturing of the Solartainer® in Germany, to shipping, to the installation on site in the African villages, and to the project coordination. For this, a close and fast cooperation as well as enormous communication is essential.
Efficient use and further development of the systems require comprehensive data analyses. As a social enterprise, the budget should also be used as effectively as possible.

What is the Solution?
As a set of communication and collaboration tools, Google Workspace enables Africa GreenTec to exchange information quickly between various teams. The browser-based solution keeps IT costs low by eliminating the need to install and maintain local software on employees’ widely scattered devices. Google Workspace’s attractive pricing model fits the young company’s budget.
The data obtained by smart meters from Africa GreenTec’s systems can be optimally processed with the services of the Google Cloud.
How could Seibert Media Support?
Seibert Media supported Africa GreenTec in license management and all aspects of the introduction and operation of Google Workspace and Cloud.
In doing so, Seibert Media advised on questions regarding domain management, shared storage, forwarding of mails, and archiving of users.
The offered trainings offer the employees of Africa GreenTec a simple possibility to educate themselves around the Google tools and to use the functional range optimally in the daily work.
What Results can be Achieved?
Thanks to Google Workspace’s simple communication tools, such as Google Chat, communication at Africa GreenTec has accelerated significantly. Employees can now react more quickly to changes in the project process, even across countries, and complete projects more quickly.
Furthermore, with Drive, Africa GreenTec benefits from a central storage location for data that can be shared on a team and project basis.
Data from the company’s own systems is clearly displayed and evaluated with Data Studio.
