Why is Google raising prices?
Well, actually, it’s not particularly surprising, although annoying, since prices have just increased everywhere. Google is also struggling with increased costs. In fact, however, a real price increase mainly takes place in the flexible plans. The commit plans are not affected by a direct increase, but by a currency adjustment (Euro +11%), which is due to the weak Euro.
Google has not adjusted prices since G Suite was renamed Google Workspace in November 2020, and even there it was not a real price increase, but rather an adjustment of the various editions from three to seven. Since then, however, many new features have been added that allow companies to save costs on other third-party applications, e.g. the ability to create appointment booking pages with Google Calendar or to send marketing newsletters with Gmail.
Last but not least, Microsoft has also recently increased prices for Microsoft 365 and its cloud services. We know that increased costs are always annoying for our customers, but this might help you get a better feel for why Google is taking this step.
How Google Workspace prices are changing
Below you will find an overview of the different Google Workspace editions with the old and new prices.
Mainly the prices in the flexible plans increase significantly.
The adjustment in the annual plans is due to the 11% currency adjustment of the weak euro.
Only the Enterprise Standard edition has also received a price increase.

More InformationOur recommendations
Here you will find some options, depending on the constellation in which you currently use Google Workspace.
However, we recommend that you contact us directly, so that we can go through the options with you one-to-one and check possible discounts.
- Flexible plan
- Enterprise Standard with flexible plan
- Annual contract
- Enterprise Standard in annual contract
If you are currently on a flexible plan, we recommend checking with us to see if an annual commitment would make sense for you.
Option:
If you switch to an annual plan before the price adjustment becomes active on April 11, you can continue to use your current edition for at least 1 more year up to a maximum of 3 years at the old prices.
Example:
You currently pay €15.60 per month and user on the Business Plus edition.
As of April 11, you would have to pay 20.70€ per month and user on the flexible plan and business plus edition.
If you sign at least an annual contract in the Business Plus edition before April 11, you will continue to pay only 15.60€ per month and user for the contract period.
PS: Depending on the number of users, the edition and the term of the contract, further discounts may be available for annual contracts. So contact us as soon as possible so that we can inquire about the best conditions for you.
If you are currently on the flexible plan and Enterprise Standard edition, you can unfortunately expect the biggest price adjustment. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you contact us here. There are two main options that could make sense for you.
Option 1:
Sign up for an annual contract before April 11 to continue to enjoy the previous Enterprise Standard edition prices for a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 3 years.
Example:
You currently pay 17.30€ per month and user in the Enterprise Standard edition.
As of April 11, you would have to pay 26.64€ in the flexible plan and Enterprise Standard edition per month and user.
If you sign up for at least one year’s Enterprise Standard plan before April 11, you will continue to pay only the 17.30€ for the contract period.
Option 2:
Take the opportunity and sign a one-year contract for the Enterprise Plus edition before April 11. In this case you would still benefit from the old prices of the Enterprise Plus edition and at the same time from additional features like S/MIME for Gmail, the Cloud Search or AppSheet. On top of that, there may even be additional discounts in it for you if you upgrade to Enterprise Plus.
Comparison:
New Enterprise Standard flex price = 26,64€ per month and user
Old Enterprise Plus contract price = 26,00€ per month and user
PS: Depending on the number of users, edition and term, additional discounts may be available for annual contracts. Please contact us as soon as possible so that we can inquire about the best conditions for you.
If you are currently on an annual commitment, nothing will change until the end of your contract term.
Option 1:
If your contract only has a few months left, we can check with you whether an early renewal is possible before the price adjustment on April 11. For example, with only one year left on your contract, you could extend your current plan to 3 years at the previous prices.
Example:
You currently pay 15.60€ per month and user in the Business Plus edition.
From April 11, when your remaining contract period expires, you would have to pay €17.25 per month and user on the annual plan and Business Plus edition.
If you renew before April 11 with at least the same outstanding contract term on the Business Plus edition, you will continue to pay only the 15.60€ for the remaining contract term.
Option 2:
You can upgrade to a higher edition before April 11 (unless you already using the Enterprise Plus edition) and keep the old price of the higher edition for 1 to 3 years while benefiting from additional features. In addition, you may even be eligible for additional discounts when you upgrade.
Example:
New Business Plus contract price = 17,25€ per month and user
Old Enterprise Standard contract price = 17,30€ per month and user
If you are currently on the Enterprise Standard edition and have an annual plan, nothing will change for you until your contract expires.
Option 1:
If you only have a few months left on your contract, we can check with you whether an early renewal is possible before the April 11 price adjustment. For example, with only one year left on your contract, you could extend to 3 years at the current prices.
Example:
You currently pay 17,30€ per month and user in the Enterprise Standard edition.
From April 11, when your remaining term expires, you would have to pay €22.20 per month and user on the annual plan and Enterprise Standard edition.
If you renew before April 11 with at least the same outstanding contract term on the Enterprise Standard plan, you will continue to pay only the 17.30€ for the remaining contract term.
Option 2:
You can upgrade to the Enterprise Plus edition before April 11 and keep the old price of the Enterprise Plus plan for 1 to 3 years while benefiting from additional features like S/MIME for Gmail, Cloud Search or AppSheet. In addition, you may even receive additional discounts when you upgrade to Enterprise Plus.
Comparison:
New Enterprise Standard contract price = 22,20€ per month and user
Old Enterprise Plus contract price = 26,00€ per month and user
Isn’t indirect purchasing through a Google partner more expensive?
No, the opposite is the case!
Of course, as a Google partner, we do not work for free and want to earn something. But this works without any additional costs for you as a customer. On the contrary, we can even offer you higher total discounts than Google itself offers. Google wants to concentrate on product development and tie up as few resources as possible in services. Therefore, Google pushes a partner model.
How does the partner model work?
Google wants to leave the cooperation with customers as far as possible to its partners, who can be much closer to the customer than Google itself could be. In doing so, the partners must demonstrate expertise in Google products and then take on a variety of services for Google. In return, Google grants us as partners a margin and, depending on the volume of customer orders, additional special conditions, which we then pass on to you as customers. This means that our margin from Google does not come on top of the list price of Google for your company, but Google only gives us as a partner something of its cake. In return, we take care of all services and Google can concentrate on the development of the products.
Advantages of working with us as a partner
Detailed advice
We take time for you. Together we discuss which licenses and plans make the most sense for your requirements. This applies not only to the direct Google products, but also to possible extensions for mapping specific processes.
Discounts
Depending on the volume and term, we can offer you attractive discounts. For example, the longer your company commits to Google Workspace licenses, the higher discounts we can offer you. But even in the Flex plan, you will at least never have higher costs through us than would be the case if you purchased directly from Google.
Correct invoice
In Germany, purchase on invoice is still the most popular payment method among companies. Google itself only offers credit card billing for direct purchases. From us you will receive a German invoice, with which your accounting department can work perfectly.
Direct support
Google’s support is known for fast and competent help. However, you always have to describe errors and problems yourself and often have to reproduce them in order to get support.
Our support, on the other hand, is more direct and straightforward. In case of a problem, our experts can coordinate with you via video call and identify and solve problems directly in the system.
Project support
We can support you directly in projects involving Google Workspace, the Google Cloud or Atlassian tools and provide you with valuable assistance based on our experience.
From planning to communication to technical implementation, our experts can support you exactly where you need help.
Trainings and updates
An optimal handling of the tools is important for the acceptance and efficiency of software solutions. That’s why we offer you a wide range of trainings.
In addition, you can keep up to date on your Google tools with our videos, informative blog articles and the newsletter.
